Below there is further information about the Town Green and its history. If you are interested in getting involved there is a monthly gardening group. If you enjoy the space but are short on time please do consider making a donation to help with upkeep. Keep an eye on the noticeboard for the latest updates
Gardening Sessions
First Sunday of The Month
10.30am. We recommend bringing gloves and secateurs and wearing gardening clothes.
Regular Jobs include pruning, deadheading, sweeping, tidying up, watering, chatting and eating cake.

Community Library
Open Sundays 10am-4pm (generally)
A great selection of fiction and non fiction for all ages, also some DVDs.

Fundraising Target £1000 - we are over 50% of the way there!
We need to raise the funds for some of the bigger jobs in the garden. These include: painting the shed, restoring the green rooves, brick paths and assessing the condition of the trees

Town Green Management Group
The town green is looked after for and by the local community of the immediate streets, mostly Ambra Vales, Ambrose Road and Church Lane The management group oversees gardening activities, organises annual events (Christmas tree and carols, Easter egg hunt etc) and ensures that the garden and its boundaries are respected and cared for. Meetings are every 3 months and usually at The Lion.
The Town Green was first claimed for the community in 1980 and registered as a Town Green in 2004. The Green is dearly loved by the local community who have tended it for the last thirty years and it is open to all.
