Cliftonwood Open Air Cinema

Welcome to Cliftonwood’s must-see late summer event on Friday – a family film The Italian Job, to be screened outdoors under the stars in the Argyle Place Park, next to the Lion Pub.

The park gates open at 7pm and the film starts at 8pm.

Chairs are provided on one side of the park – for others bring a rug or cushions to sit on the grass.

Food, drink and toilets are available at the Lion Pub next door.

We can’t sell tickets for the event because of restrictions on the film distribution licence – we can only ask our audience for donations by rattling buckets at the gate. Our costs are for hire of the projectionist and his equipment (Bath Film Festival’s Chris Baker), the film distributor licence and Council event licence.

ciname2.jpgWe’ve run this event every year since 2005 and it’s become hugely popular with local families.  It started as a fund raiser for new playground equipment in the park and we enjoyed it so much that we carry on, raising funds for the Hotwells & Cliftonwood Community Association.
