Welcome to Cliftonwood’s family film screening. This year the date is Friday 6th September and Cliftonwood voted for Mary Poppins.
Gates open at 7pm so come early to pick your spot, the film starts at 8pm. We provide 40 chairs on a first come first served basis. Most people bring rugs etc to sit on the grass.
Mary Poppins attire could add to the fun if you fancy dressing up. Though do wrap up warm as it gets chilly later! Food, drink and toilets are available at The Lion next door.
There is no interval and so the film should finish by 10pm.
For updates keep an eye on our Facebook page
We’re very grateful to The Lion for sponsoring our event
If you know of any local businesses that would like to sponsor the cinema please email firstname.lastname@example.orgRead more
The Cumberland Basin Stakeholder Group was set up in spring 2018 in response to development plans for Hotwells. A public meeting was held on April 9th, here are the details of the presentation from the council https://www.hotwellscliftonwood.org.uk/council_plans_for_consultation
The response in the meeting included concerns that any new development included proper social housing and social infrastructure, community cohesion, environmental & flood risk concern, objections to high rise development, respect for local history, respect for the local community in terms of the disruption caused by development.
We have been looking at the Bristol Local Plan Review and the draft policies. You can read our responses here
Do you have any comments you'd like to make? Please email us email@example.com
We are setting up a 'Friends' group to meet for gardening days, plan local events and share ideas and aspirations for this community space. The Friends group might also like to join in conversations about longer term developments that the council are consulting on. Follow this link to receive regular news and invitations.
We're welcoming any locals but if you have friends or family you think might be interested they are welcome. Our first event is Sunday 19th May 12-4pm opposite the Rose of Denmark pub. We'll be filling our new planters and doing some general gardening and chatting. Cake provided!
Please bring something to drink as we have no water onsite

On Monday 9th April we had a community meeting to discuss local responses to a plan proposed by the council for developments to Hotwells (named 'Western Harbour' by the proposal)
There is a chance for local people to comment by Friday this week.
Please email to comment email@example.com
We are looking for more people to help us run the Hotwells & Cliftonwood Community Association and to do the things that local people want to do. Organisations benefit massively from new people with new ideas, initiatives and skills
This short leaflet tells you all about who we are and what we do. We hope you enjoy reading it and invite you to contact us if you’d like to get involved in helping us improve our local area for all.
The best way to contact us is by email firstname.lastname@example.org
We look forward to hearing from you!
