Voluntary Opportunities
We are looking for volunteers!
Volunteering with us is a great way to meet people in our communities, develop skills, make friends and feel connected. We are a small and friendly organisation run by people from Hotwells and Cliftonwood for everyone who lives and works here. We are currently seeking people who would be interested in joining us in the following roles.
Company Secretary
We are seeking someone who relishes the details, dotting the “i’s” and crossing the “t’s”, to join our management committee as Company Secretary.
Our company secretary ensures that our annual report and returns are submitted in a timely fashion to Companies House and The Charity Commission. Working with other trustees, our Company Secretary ensures that HCCA exemplifies best practice in its governance and adheres to all legal requirements.
Ideally, we are looking for someone who has acted in this role before or has some legal experience.
Commitment
6 Management Committee meetings per year plus AGM, plus prep.
Newsletter Editor
Do you enjoy writing, editing and finding out all the news and happenings in the community?
We are looking for someone to edit our monthly email newsletter with support from our management committee.
The newsletter includes submissions from local organisations such as Hotwells Primary School, local people, and also the latest HCCA news.
The newsletter editor is responsible for collating submissions into our newsletter and sending it out. This role is supported by management committee members.
Commitment
4-5 hours per month to edit and compile the newsletter. The newsletter editor is also welcome to attend Management Committee meetings
Previously this role has been done by one person, however it could also work with a small team.
