Blocked Gulleys

The HCCA through the Community Links Group has again raised this perennial problem. We believe we can help the Council to help us. We shall be surveying the roads in our area to identify blocked drains. We will then be supplying this list to the Council and asking for plenty of prior warning of the planned visits of the drain clearing team so that we can try and ensure that the relevant places are clear of cars on the day.

If you know of blocked drains please send details to the office identifying the road and the position of the drain i.e. opposite/outside No. 34

Your help with these things will be very much appreciated

Bins on Pavements - update Nov. 2009

We are still actively pursuing with the Council ways of improving our pavements by ridding them of bins, black boxes etc. A trial is currently underway in Clifton for the use of larger communal bins and we think that there is at least one place in Cliftonwood where this might provide an improvement.

If you know of any places in the area where bins and recycle boxes on the pavements are a nuisance then please advise the HCCA office and we will take it up with the Council for you. The Council’s Waste Management team are keen to find solutions for neighbourhoods where this is a problem.

We recognise there are many narrow pavements and houses with storage problems in our neighbourhood but If you are genuinely unable to co-operate you should contact BCC Waste Services for advice and help. tel: 0117 922 2100.
